If the Deluxe Pack for PSX is pretty much identical to this, destroy the barriers and the turrets before it activates. Line up your ship and the options so each core has something firing at them.

They fire too many cores before u are able to destroy the cores itself so by the time the cores opens up u already have a barrage of cores on the screen

I always found this a swine too just get lined up at the start and make sure you regrab as many options as you can if your killed.

To defeat center core, first you need to go forward before the boss apeears, but you must have all the options first, then youll need to put them in the right position to hit the cores, bue dont try to move or youll be sorry

There is a safe spot for this boss, though it is dangerous to position yourself without dying. Also, it may not work on all versions of the game.
The safe spot is the very bottom of the screen, all the way up against the right wall, as close as possible. No orbs will hit you, and you can time out the boss. This trick is shown in the *Game Simulation Video Salamander* superplay vid, by Spy Yamato- http://www.gamestone.co.uk/gradius/m...salamander.php The safe spot is shown in the last pic! |

![]() ![]() Parking your ship in the position shown in the picture before the boss shoots the blue balls will make the blue balls get stuck - and then you can just destroy the cores safely. Works on both arcade and PSX version. However you need to be quite precise about the position - if you get too close or too far, you'll be killed immediately. |

Can we have that safe spot image uploaded again?
EDIT - nvm, found a better tactic. Destroy all the core gates ASAP then group all your options around you and right in front of center core so that most if not all missiles go down into the center and that should kill the boss before any blue balls come out (seems like missiles going down center hatch also reach side cores too). Just be sure to keep one option behind you enough as last few times I've tried this there's always a enemy coming from a left ground hatch. Last edited by Sinful; 7th October 2017 at 03:48. |
